気が付けば

気が付けば、もう年末。
12月は仕事が休みの日が少なかったので、余裕のないままに今日を迎えた感じ。
クリスマスもどこかの出来事という感じで過ぎ去り、今日が大晦日という感覚もほとんどなくて、本当に明日が元日なのかなぁ・・・？
まあ、明日には体のどこかにあるはずのリセット・ボタンを押して、新年を受け入れる事になりましょうか。

そんなこんなで本年も終わりかけですが、今年はよく音楽を聴いた年でしたよ。
あまり自然な聴き方ではなかったけど、何らかの手を打たないと、未聴盤が溜まり続ける一方だったので、積極的にそれらを聴いていったのです。
じっくりと接するに至っていない盤も多いし、消化不足ではあるけど、それなりに成果はあったような気がするのです。
取り敢えず、来年もこのままのスタイルで聴いてみようかと。
まあ、特にこだわらず、あれこれと聴くという感じですね。
割合としては、70年代ぐらいのものが多めになりそう。
その辺りの音源が多く溜まっているという事ですよね。

で、これを書きながら聴いている盤が、今年最後の盤になりそう。

一般的にも、いくつかの曲で存在を知られている人だと思うけど、個人的には、The Searchersもカヴァーした"When You Walk In The Room"の作者というイメージ。
この曲って、何とも言えない魅力があると思うのです。
色々なアーティストやバンドが取り上げるのも良く分かります。
そんなイメージもあり、収録の12曲中、彼女の自作曲が4曲だけというのは意外という印象でした。
しかし、取り上げられている曲もしっかりと選ばれていると感じられるし、そんなに違和感なく溶け込んでいますね。
Neil YoungやVan Morrisonという広く知られたアーティストの曲よりは、そうじゃない曲の方が、予備知識がない分もあってか、個人的には惹かれるものがありますね。
まあ、まだ聴き込むとこまでは至っていないので、その辺りは変化する余地はありそうですが。
